So
musesfool asked if I was perhaps going to post again soon. And if anything were going to make me, it would be Tom McRae.
I saw him last night, for, you know, the 11th time. Or maybe 12th. I have pretty much lost count by now. He was, as always, wonderful. And he had a really good band with him--including Oli, which is exactly as it should be. I feel like it's been ages since I saw him with a band, even though it's probably not, but it was nice to have the songs with a little more than just the acoustic instruments. And I am even more impressed than normal, because he was seriously losing his voice. He sounded pretty terrible when he was just speaking, and I have no idea how he hit and held the notes he did. How good is his voice normally, when he could do that sounded like he was 3 minutes away from death?
Brian Wright played with him, and did a set beforehand, and was also awesome. I got his album, and at some point, I need to put some of his stuff up here. He's kind of...country, but not at all like mainstream country. And once you've heard his lyrics, it won't really be a surprise at all why he hangs around with Tom. But he's really, really good live--the kind of good that makes everyone just shut up and listen.
Anyway, set list:
( cut for those of you who don't care )

I have a Sam/Dean fic to post. I need to do that, because it is mostly sitting there getting in the way of me writing anything else. A task for tomorrow.
