Heading out to case the promise land

I saw Tom McRae tonight with a string quartet, which was pretty much made of win, though Oli was replaced by some cellist impostor, which I do not approve of at all. The best moment of the evening was Tom pretending he'd been in Eastern Europe and fallen in love with this folk tune that he'd translated to try and make his own, and then breaking into a fabulous version of Hungry like the Wolf. So hilarious and ridiculous. Fitting Bleeding Love into Black Heart Rodeo was also awesome.

And tomorrow, I get to see JOsh Ritter. I feel sort of bad that I love Josh more than Tom, but I think I do. It's hard to resist when he writes like he does. I am only human! One day, they should get together and play a set. I...admit, I have no conception of how that would work, but it would make me happy, nonetheless.

Apart from that, I am crampy an cranky and I can't decide if LJ is broken again, or if it's just that my internet is fucking with me--also again. I actually suspect it's both, and neither really works for me.
