Last night I went to see The Deathly Hallows, which was kind of terrible. I thought HBP was pretty bad, too, but at least there, my boredom was tempered by being annoyed by all the stuff they missed out, in favour of playing up all the romance stuff. DH had most of the plot points nailed, but without any feeling. Dobby's death was pretty sad (though even that was blunted a bit, for me, because the last 3 films have all climaxed in important deaths), but other than that, it was just very bland. Part of the problem, maybe, is that for so much of the film Harry, Ron and Hermione were isolated, which meant Emma, Daniel and--the other dude--had to carry the film. And I, um, don't really find them that compelling a lot of the time. Sorry! Is that a tremendously unpopular fannish opinion?

Then I came home and signed up for Yuletide, in a very last minute, very badly thought through move. But the point is, signing up was done! I can procrastinate for weeks, and then panic and flail for 3 days. It'll be awesome.
