You know, generally men who throw small children off towers do not appeal to me. But Jaime Lannister might be the exception. I like Tyrion more, but possibly only because I'm in the middle of book 3, and Jaime hasn't had enough time to win me over. I think instead of sleeping with his crazy sister, Jaime should go for his brother, instead.
And while we're talking about siblings: Sansa's annoyingness is matched only by Arya's awesomeness. When I stopped reading yesterday, Sansa had just been married to Tyrion, and she's all, "Woe! Alas! My life is hard!" I'm like, "Poor Tyrion. He lost half his face, and now he has to suffer this. So cruel!" I'm pretty sure the only one worthy of him is Arya, and I'm equally sure he's the only one worthy of her. Though if Jaime continues to be awesome, I might rethink.
Most importantly, however, I want a wolf of my own. I am going to be very, very upset if any more of them don't survive.
Anyway, I like it. I...think. I'm not sure why. It's not what I expected--it's a lot darker, for one thing--and since book 1, there have been extended stretches where nothing really happens. There are also any number of people around who I feel are not necessary for my enjoyment, but I can't stop reading it. It's just unfortunate there will never be anything beyond book 4. I think it should be mandatory, once a series hasn't been updated for a certain amount of time, that all books in it are sold with some sort of sticker explaining that if the author lives to be 7 million years old, there will still be no updates. It's surely only polite.
