I have just heard about the Haiti J2 AU. And, well, see the subject line.
My immediate tendencies whenever something like this happens are to feel like this is piling on, or be all, "It's easy to be thoughtless! I'd feel bad if it were me," and then I stay quiet. And that, I believe, is some epic privilege right there. It's also just really stupid, because thoughtlessness implies, like, leaving the milk out of the fridge, or saying something insensitive and not realising it. Writing about a tragedy like the Haiti earthquake for 80 thousand words, only as a means to make Jared and Jensen make out does not fit into that category. Ever.
But if anyone else is thinking about it like I initially did, it's worth checking out her apology post (she's hurt! Terribly hurt!), or, for even more enlightenment, this post of quotes from the story. It's not piling on to call racism racism. Trufax.
